This video is about the furniture restoration experts at Excel Shop and why it’s important to understand the emotional connection that makes that piece so valuable. Steven Weber, owner of Excel Shop, explains that a customer recently brought him a cutting board to be restored. It’s not just an ordinary cutting board; the customer made it when he was in high school as a gift to his mother. His mother recently passed away and the cutting board remains behind as a loving remembrance to her. With any restoration, Steven says that all customers come to him with the same three questions: 1. Can you fix this? 2. How much will it cost? and 3. When can I get it back?
Every job is unique because every item is unique. If you have a piece that you love and want to consider restoring it, send photos to Steven and he will be able to give you advice. How strong an attachment you have to this piece will help you decide what to do.
